I’ve spent enough time in the art capital of the world, as I like to call Berlin, to understand the significance of some particular local events. Among them, one of the most important is still 48 Stunden Neukölln. First experienced it in 2015/2016, thanks to one of my good friends still. She took me there and must admit I was shocked and overwhelmed to see so much art in one / several places. It’s like going to your usual (musical) festival, but with a perpetual FOMO kind of feeling.

48StNK marks the curatorial debut of Roxana Elena Ardeleanu, who developed the concept together with fellow artists Ritayan Rath, Alexandr Luc, and Vanessa Neuber.

You might remember Roxana from one of my previous stories this year, which also took place in Neukölln. Alongside her curatorial role, Ardeleanu presents a series of expressive surrealist paintings that blend symbolic imagery and dreamlike compositions.

Roxana sees a sometimes different reality which other humans seem to ignore. A connection of humanity with the universe. Strange to all of us, but well known to an artistic mind.

Her imagination combines a multitude of shapes, vivid colors, and senses in an unique kind of way, connecting the universe to our flawed, but very human part. Roxana is maybe feeling what most of us seem to miss – a future in the present through our past, unfolding right in front of us.

**Entangled Realities** invites visitors to explore the dynamic relationship between mind, matter, and the cosmos through a diverse collection of contemporary artworks.

Presented by Berlin-based collective RAV Artistrio as part of the 48 Stunden Neukölln Festival, the exhibition brings together painting, drawing, collage, mixed-media installations, digital and AI-generated art to examine transformation, perception, and the invisible forces that shape our reality.

Founded in 1999, 48 Stunden Neukölln is Berlin’s largest independent contemporary art festival. Created by the Kulturnetzwerk Neukölln, the festival emerged from a desire to challenge the district’s negative public image and highlight its cultural diversity through art.

Instead of taking place in traditional gallery spaces alone, the festival transforms Neukölln into a decentralized exhibition venue, with hundreds of artists presenting work in studios, cafés, shops, courtyards, churches, and public spaces.

Each year, the festival revolves around a central theme that encourages artistic responses to current social issues, fostering dialogue between artists, residents, and visitors while celebrating the creative spirit of one of Berlin’s most diverse neighborhoods.

Entangled Realities will be on view from 3–5 July 2026 at Diner 41 (Hobrechtstraße 41, Berlin) as part of 48 Stunden Neukölln, offering visitors an immersive journey through contemporary artistic practices, uniting the analogue with digital, the tangible with intangible.
