Berlin Senate wants to allow open air parties organized by clubs

The Senate wants to allow Berlin clubs to organize open air parties. It`s an initiative coming from Simona Pop, Senator for Economic Affairs (Green Party). A letter addressing this issue was sent by the politician to the mayors of Berlin`s districts, according to The Berliner Morgenpost.

In the letter she asks Berlin`s mayors to open certain green spaces, streets and squares for open-air events. These should be organized professionally and in compliance with the rules. The politician also hopes that the measure will close the door for illegal parties.

“Berlin misses our diverse club scene. […] the clubs and bars are suffering economically from the Corona crisis. That is why […] we want to create legal opportunities for celebrations in public spaces for the clubs and Berliners”, said Pop for The Berliner Morgenpost.

The areas taken into consideration for open-airs and outdoor sports facilities are: Britzer Hafensteg (Neukölln), Jungfernheide Volkspark (Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf), Juliusturm (Spandau), Kienberg skate park (Marzahn-Hellersdorf).
