Avilynn is one of those vive la resistance kind of artists who you’d think you know already. And you most probably do when you get her music – placed right at the intersection of club sounds with cool blends of crafty, conceptual tones.
It’s one of the reasons Avilynn’s productions found their way to my unklar mixtapes, and why I am sharing her newest releases: “Am I Good” and “Hard to Rest”.
“Am I Good” is part of her first solo techno EP following the collaborative project named NOL. For this track, the artist has sampled her own voice. The result is like an answer to the track’s name. Listen, and then decide if you, or the others, are good.

It’s a tricky, jolly track that plays with society’s overly conformist rules, fueling insecurity by focusing too much on competition. Through “Am I Good”, Avilynn invites you to live now — to experience a sensorial present: “Music shouldn’t be about yourself; it should be about being.”

“Hard to Rest” is a collaborative track by Avilynn and Kai Schönewald, set to release on May 7th 2025. Minimalistic grooves blend with complex atmospheric sound design, in pursuit of “restrained urgency and introspective momentum.”

A constant flow of experimental influences runs through the track’s veins, partly meant for the conventional functionality of dancefloors, but mostly trying to push the outer edges of electronic music.
